About the event

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa will give us a workshop about online and offline teaching and show us what are the current best practices in leveraging technology to save time in online and face-to-face education when it comes to teaching. As she explains:

"New teacher knowledge, especially at the university level, requires both an understanding of the brain and how it learns, as well as insight as to what technological tools are available to save time, permitting more personalized learning. The global pandemic has created unprecedented challenges to educators, requiring new skill sets which many teachers have yet to master. This workshop will consider evidence-based pedagogies that can facilitate learning both in online as well as face-to-face contexts, as well as discuss time-saving digital tools. The objective of this workshop is to address your questions and make teaching in online contexts the most successful possible."


Please note:
1) This is a flipped workshop. You will be expected to do a small amount of work to prepare for it.
2) This workshop will be in English and open to UT professors and researchers.

Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa

Tracey is a Harvard professor and undoubtedly one of the top experts on learning. In fact, she has published a book about the neuroscience of online learning. Those of us who have read her books or taken her online course know what an amazing educator she is.

BEFORE the workshop

This is a flipped workshop. In order to register :

1. Watch Tracey's video below (49'59)

2. After watching the video, send your questions (by January 10th). We will use your questions to structure the synchronous workshop.

3. When you send your questions, you will be automatically registered for the online event. The Zoom link to access Tracey's workshop will be sent to you a few days before the event.
